About the event

This webinar is dedicated to one of the most complex situations in family law - when a family conflict escalates into a criminal law matter. Participants will gain a basic understanding of how the system works, what processes are triggered, and what consequences this may have for life, family, and children.

What we will discuss in the webinar:

  • how domestic violence cases are initiated and handled

  • what happens after an arrest: first steps and procedures

  • bail, release conditions, and victims’ rights (Marsy’s Law)

  • the difference between criminal court and family court

  • how a criminal case affects divorce, child custody, and safety

  • common mistakes

Goal of the webinar: to reduce uncertainty, help participants understand the system, and support more informed decision-making.
